We live in the Future

This week: a robot surgeon stitches up a grape!

That sounded weird. But it’s completely true! The Da Vinci Surgical System has been approved by the FDA as a surgical tool which is capable of performing very complex procedures- and with such grace. Named after the renaissance man who conceived robotic design long before Skynet graced our screens, Da Vinci has performed an estimated 1.5 million procedures to date, costs roughly $2 million. Because of the accuracy and delicate touch of the robot, it is used to perform precise operations, such as hysterectomies and prostate removals.
